Grade & Length: III, WI5+, 60m
Approach: Park in the lot at the start of the Yoho Valley Road (Takkakaw Falls road) just east of Field. The road is closed in the winter. Hike or ski up the road past The Pillars areauntil the routes suddenly come into view just across the river. Cross the river to the climbs. About 1 hour total.
Route Description: Climb the narrow flow of steep ice in the middle of the wall. Doesn’t always form completely. There is another WI4 route on the left edge of the wall known as “Joy After Pain”, and some mixed routes as well.
Descent: Rappel.
Gear: Screws. Rock gear could be useful in thin conditions.
Objective Hazards: Possible avalanche hazard.
